Chris Lohse

Chief of Staff

Chris Lohse, recently appointed as Chief of Staff, comes to us with a unique background and vast relationships in the education space. Chris got his start in education with Teach for America, teaching high school science in Los Angeles for five years before heading to Harvard to earn his Master's Degrees in Education and Public Policy. He then worked for the Montana Legislature and State Education agency, where he led research and government affairs.

Chris is passionate about linking networks, information and knowledge from outstanding public and private sector professionals to accelerate life chances for learners at all ages and stages. With his experience in research he decided to return to Teach for America and lend his expertise to the National Council of State Legislatures, and the Council of Chief State Officers, all while maintaining summer teaching responsibilities in higher education, teacher training programs at Yale University’s Exploration Program, and at Harvard University. He served as VP of Strategic & Government Relations at both Pearson and Renaissance Learning before working as the Chief Academic Officer and SVP of Government Affairs for Teachers 1:1.
